Our family of 10 decided to try snorkeling with turtles with Absolute Adventures and it proved to be a wonderful experience. Email communication with Claire to arrange the excursion was prompt and thorough. Claire was a very professional, friendly, organized and knowledgeable guide. We left early to beat the crowds and this proved to work perfectly and allowed us to snorkel before the crowds started and see a lot of turtles, stingrays, and fish before the water got too crowded with other snorkelers. I would definitely recommend Absolute Adventures for your excursions and would not hesitate to book an excursion with them in the future.

We booked only days before our vacation. Claire was super responsive on emails! Chris was punctual, friendly & knowledgeable. I loved the fact that he brought bug repellent & umbrellas when we visited the Tulum ruins. Our kiddos were growing impatient at the end of the tour & were ecstatic when he offered an ice cream stop at the end. Chris was super patient with our young children while we snorkeled with turtles.

Had a very good tour of the ruins, knowledgeable helpful staff with excellent English and lots of historic knowledge. Juan was the guide & Misael the driver. They were great! Tour included a delicious lunch in Valladolid & a trip to a gorgeous cenote.

Our group of 26 booked two tours with Absolute Adventures. One was to the Tulum Ruins / Cenote snorkeling and and the other was to snorkel with the sea turtles. Chris and Claire were very pleasant to deal with and answered all of my emails and questions during the booking process. Chris recommended an early start for both of the tours and I couldn't be more happier with that decision, both tours were getting very busy when we were actually leaving. We were able to take beautiful pictures at the Tulum without a lot of other people in the background. I would recommend bringing mosquito repellent with you to the ruins. The walk from the parking lot to the front gate was brutal. We were very grateful to Claire for assisting one of the group who was a little afraid of going in the water with the turtles. Claire took her in by herself and was able to get her past her fears. Who highly recommend using Absolute.

Just to keep it short, Chris, 1/2 owner in Absolute Adventures, was great for our two kids and the two adults. Super knowledgeable, fun, and entertaining. We did the Tulum ruins tour, Akumal snorkeling, and cenote experience. I won't give out any details, but he gets the adrenalin rushing on part of the cenote tour. And being a certified cave and open water diver, he's very comfortable to be around in the water.

Claire did a great job of meeting my requests and arranging our family tour of the Riveria Maya. She kept us off the beaten path so we weren't with the masses of tourists. We stayed in Cozumel but I wanted the kids to see more of the area...with Claire's recommendation for an early start, they met us at the ferry in Playa del Carmen and we had already toured Tulum as the bus loads of tourists were unloading and standing in line ( great call Claire!), then we had a very refreshing swim /snorkel tour of an amazing, uncrowded underground Ceynote, great lunch in a local Mayan restaurant and then we snorkeled with the turtles. We had our 2 adult children & 1 daughter in law (all with very different personalities and temperaments, I might add) 1 teen and one 7 year old. Thank you Claire for making it such a special day...you worked hard to make sure everyone was accommodated (especially making sure everyone saw turtles, especially the 7 year old!) ... everyone is still having a hard time deciding which activity they liked the most!

I have a 3 yr old and 1 yr old. We wanted to visit Coba and Tulum but wanted to avoid a large tour group because we really didn't need the dirty looks when our kids had the inevitable tantrums. Found Absolute Adventure right here on TripAdvisor, went directly to their website and saw that they had one of the lowest prices around for a private tour group. Our resort was gonna charge us almost $1,000 for a private tour. Absolute Adventure's prices were waaaaay more reasonable. Chris and his partner Clara picked us up and we had a wonderful experience at Coba and Tulum. They were sooo helpful and so understanding and patient with us and our kids. At Coba, we realized we didn't have enough change to tip the pedi-cab cyclist and they took care of it. Clara even took hold of the stroller and pushed it around and kept my daughter entertained so that I could listen to the tour guides. And then when my daughter fell asleep in the stroller, she STAYED with the stroller while we walked further on to complete the tour. Who does that?? These guys do, because they're super awesome! Five stars all the way. And I will definitely be looking them up to go diving the next time I'm in Playa Del Carmen. Having the owners accompany you on the tours just makes the experience so much more personable! Thanks again Chris for a great time! And thanks for sharing your M&M's with my kids 🙂

Chris was great. We 'found' him through a recommendation. Just the two of us an him snorkeling with turtles in Akumal. He is passionate about the turtles and maintaining the environment. The weather wasn't great and the the sun wasn't shining, but we still had a brilliant time and he found us turtles, stingray and beautiful fish. And kept us clear of the 'masses'.

I found Chris and Absolute Adventures by searching the internet, and he hands down deserves a 5 star rating. A friend and I travelled to Playa del Carmen for a 9 day holiday, and this was definitely one of our highlights. When searching for a tour I was looking for someone who was willing to take someone with a disabiltiy as I am a wheelchair user. Chris blew my expectations away. He carried me part way up the Coba ruins, got me in the ocean to snorkel with turtles and carried me down to swim in the Cenote. Take Chris's advice and start the tour early! Well worth beating the crowds at the ruins.. Dont hesitate booking with Absolute Adventure! Thanks again Chris! Cheers, Ryan

We visited Play del Carmen in February 2015 and took a private day trip with Chris from Absolute Adventure Mexico. We wanted to accomplish a lot in one day and had our 9 year old daughter with us so a long day can always be an issue with a little one and a private tour seemed the best option. Chris responded to my emails right away with great details and evident professionalism. We were wanting to do 3 things (Tulum ruins, a cenote swim and swim with turtles), spend the amount of time we wanted to at each activity, and leave and arrive back home at times that suited us. Chris made it clear what we could accomplish which made it easy to manage our expectations, and the best part was that it would be a totally flexible day that suited our needs – critical for families with little ones!

Day 1 - snorkelling with turtles and cenote tour. Wow what a fantastic day! There were 7 of us; ages 12-82 and we all had a marvellous time. I was so impressed with the planning that Chris did prior to our tour. The restaurant he took us to (very very small village) was out of this world - in fact, our resort food seems sub-par after that lunch. They cenotes were incredible and Chris took the time to ensure we had the cenote to ourselves which was so enjoyable.

On our recent visit to Mexico, and although the resort we stayed at - Mayan Place - offers many tours, we booked, before arriving in Mexico, a full day tour by private guide with Chris of Absolute Adventures. We are very happy that we did this as the price was reasonable and we did not have to tour with a bus load of other people. Chris is a great young man whose passion for making sure his customers are happy is more than evident. Chris was promptly at the Mayan Palace at 7:00 a.m., however, the main gate would not let him into the resort to meet us at the reservation desk. At about 7:10 I called him (he had tried to reach me but I had my phone off until I turned it on to call him) and was told they wouldn’t let him enter so we took a cab from check-in to the front gate - $5 – silly and outrageous and our only complaint about the resort!!! Once we met Chris, we took off for our private tour of:

And when we got to Akumal beach and saw the other tours herding their crowds we knew we had made the right choice. Chris found us turtles and guided us through the reefs for a very enjoyable snorkel. He then took us to the pet cemetery cenote which utterly captivated us. Finished the day with a great lunch and he even made a special stop for us to check out a beach club we are planning on visiting. I would very much recommend choosing Chris for your tours.

We did have to get picked up at 7:30AM, but it was worth not being around a bunch of people. Be prepared for about a 45 minute drive to get to wear the turtles are from Playa del Carmen. We saw about 5-6 large turtles and they were pretty cool. There were also some small reefs with a few fish but not a lot. Chris was very friendly and professional I would highly recommend booking a private tour through Absolute.

We booked a private tour with Absolute Adventure Mexico as we wanted to visit Coba with friends. What was great was that we also wanted to snorkel and see the sea turtles at Akumal as you need to do this on an organised tour now, and we were able to combine the two as one trip and for a great price.Arturo our guide and Rodrigo our driver picked us up at our hotel at 6:30am. It was a bit of an early start, but it was well worth it. We got to Coba fairly early and we beat the crowds. The first part of the tour was walking with a guide, Mario who was very knowledgeable and told us all about Coba and the history. Arturo was taking photos as we went along. On the second part, we went on bike taxis firstly down to the big temple (I only climbed 10 steps!) and then some of the other ruins on the way back. Arturo was very knowledgeable. The whole tour here was excellent and made even better as for the most of it, we felt like we had the place to ourselves - fantastic.After the tour we stopped at a local restaurant for lunch. The food and service was fabulous and we chatted to Arturo about Mexico.We then made our way to Akumal. It's changed quite a lot there now. We snorkelled there a few years back before the regulations came in force. We still snorkelled off the beach with a guide just for our small group. It was quite difficult keeping up as only the guides wear fins, but we did see a few turtles which what we wanted. All in all a fabulous day, I would highly recommend booking with this company. Effortless booking process and we got some free photos as well.

An early start proved to be worthwhile to avoid the crowds and heat of the day. The vehicle was comfortable with plenty of space for the 3 of us. Our excellent driver was considerate and looked after our rucksacks whilst visiting the various sites.

The highlight was swimming in the crystal clear waters of a cenote - amazing. The tour around Tulum was marred a little by torrential rain and high winds, so we didn’t spend quite as long there as I would have liked. All in all, highly recommended!

Right from the start, all of our interactions with Absolute Adventures were first rate, starting with the communications I had with Claire, the owner. She was prompt, thorough and extremely courteous in all of our email exchanges.Our positive experiences continued when we met our tour guide, Juan, and our driver for the day, Ervin. I'm not sure how Absolute Adventure's other guides and drivers are, but we couldn't have been happier with the experience we had Juan and Ervin. They picked us up at 7:00 a.m. on the dot, as promised, and from the moment we met them, we couldn't have felt more comfortable. Juan was funny, entertaining, and extremely easy to talk to, not to mention his seeming encyclopedic knowledge of Tulum, Coba and the cenotes that we visited. Ervin was a bit more quite, focusing on the driving as he should. Still very polite and friendly though. The van we rode in for the day was extremely clean and comfortable, and the place we stopped for lunch was charming, authentic, and had great food. Juan joined us for lunch, and our conversation made us feel like we'd been friends with him forever. We talked a lot about our families and shared a lot of laughs and great stories. It was readily apparent that Juan's parent's raised him right when he stopped the van in the middle of our trip to help a man in a wheelchair that was struggling to get up a hill. I couldn't have been more impressed with Juan the tour guide, but I was probably even more impressed with Juan the person. Oh...and Tulum, Coba and the cenotes were awesome too!We've booked a fair amount of tours over the years, and the day that Absolute Adventures provided us ranks right at the top of the list. Excellent guide and driver,Arturo was very knowledgeable as well as the guides at Tulum and coba. We really enjoyed the trip and loved learning about the Mayan culture. We were looked after very well throughout the whole trip and would highly recommend absolute adventure especially when traveling with young children.
