My friend and I booked this tour on a girls weekend in Tulum and we had the best time! We were the only ones on the bus and Arturo spent so much time sharing the history of the area and answering all of our questions about Tulum and the surrounding areas. I would highly recommend booking a tour with Absolute Adventure.
Voir plusHad a wonderful adventure with our amazing host, Arturo. Each activity was memorable and one we will never forget! We tried so many new things in our 1/2 day tour and loved every minute of it. So glad we did this!!
Voir plusSix of us girls booked a private tour with Absolute Adventure on a recent trip to Riviera Maya. We loved our personalized experience visiting the Tulum Ruins, a cenote, and swimming with sea turtles with Arturo. From the start Absolute Adventure was easy to work with and Arturo was both professional and personable during our tour. We get like we got a taste of the Mayan jungles and culture and didn’t have to do so with hundreds of other people. Definitely would recommend Absolute Adventure and would use again on another trip to the area!

I have been meaning to write this review ever since I got back from the tour (back in May 2017), but I haven't had the chance until now.I found Absolute Adventure on Yelp after looking at the different tour companies around the area. This one sounded the best because of swimming with turtles, as well as the guides are accommodating, especially if you're not a strong swimmer. So after many hours of research, I sent an email to Claire inquiring about a tour for swimming with turtles as well as a cenote. Sadly, the days that I wanted were already booked, so I had to book the only day that they had available, which was the morning before a wedding rehearsal. I really wanted to go with this company, and that was the reason why I still booked with them even though the only day they had available wasn't ideal. Plus, I'm not a strong swimmer at all, but reading the reviews on here as well as on Trip Advisor, made me confident that this would be a good company to do a snorkeling tour with. I know this company is more about private tours, and is definitely cheaper with more people, but I just had to book it for 2.So when you book the tour, you have to put down a 10% deposit, and then the rest of the cost will be paid in cash on the day of the tour. Claire was very accommodating and very helpful in terms of the sizes of the wet suit as well as the life jacket. After those email exchanges, I inquired Claire again the week of our trip (we booked the tour about 4 weeks before our trip) to see if there were any cancellations on the day that I wanted, but unfortunately, there wasn't any. Claire was very understanding and accommodating about this!So when we got to Riviera Maya and got our room, I emailed Claire back on our room number to secure our tour. You have to send them your room number or else they are not allowed to pick you up from your resort, and your tour will get cancelled. The day of our tour, we met the tour guide, Juan-Jo, at the lobby of our resort. He was super nice, and very talkative! We then went into our very own van! We had the entire van to ourselves since the tour was just for the 2 of us! SUPER COMFY!! We first went to Akumal to swim with the turtles. This was about 15 minutes away from our resort, so pretty quick drive. It was early in the morning, so we started our swim around 9am. Pretty darn early! But there were already people in the ocean by then! Plus, it actually wasn't as cold as you'd expect, very warm water! So that was enjoyable. We met up with another guy there, who was our tour guide for the snorkeling with the turtles portion of the tour. Luckily, he had a floater that we could hold onto if we can't keep up with him, and I was SO glad that he did. I found out that I'm definitely not as strong of a swimmer in the ocean as I had thought. So that definitely made the snorkeling with the turtles more enjoyable. I didn't think I'd see any turtles, but we actually saw a bunch! We saw a bunch of fishes also. It was definitely a cool experience!!Then we got back onshore and met up with Juan again for the rest of our tour. He had a big bag of fresh water for us to rinse in, and dry off, and then off to our cenote snorkel. I wasn't sure what to expect. Juan was our tour guide for this snorkel. We went to the Sac Actun (Pet Cemetery) Cenote. The water was SOOO cold compared to the ocean! Good thing we wore our water shoes (highly recommend it!)! We swam through 2 cenotes, and it was definitely pretty cool. First time swimming in a cenote! It was a closed cenote, so it was pretty dark in some parts, but we had flashlights, so that helped. When we finished our swim in the cenotes, we got lunch at a nearby restaurant. Very good Mexican food! After that, they took us back to our resort. The entire tour was about 4 hours long. A little less than an hour at each spot we stopped at.The tour was $298 USD for 2 people (obviously it'd cost less per person if you had more than 2). Also, I wanted photography services that they had mentioned on their site, but sadly, they weren't allow to offer it anymore for their turtles tour due to new regulations. So I ended up opting to rent an underwater camera, with a 16GB SD card that I'd get to keep at the end of the tour, which was $45 USD extra. So it ended up being $343 USD for the 2 of us (tip not included)... SUPER PRICEY, I KNOW! 🙁 BUT.. It was definitely worth it, especially when I'm not a strong swimmer, and it was so personalized and the guides were very accommodating and are there to help you out!Overall, I'd HIGHLY recommend Claire and the rest of her team! They are VERY accommodating and will help you as much as they can! I really enjoyed the 4 hours I had with Juan-Jo! I'd definitely consider Absolute Adventure again if I'm ever in the area again! There are definitely some tours I'd like to check out!

Voir plusWe had some worry bout doing events in Mexico, after hearing different things. But when I asked questions, Claire always answered and helped feel better about doing a booking. We did our booking and went to the Tulum, snorkels in a Cenote and with sea turtles. Our guide, Arturo and bus driver Misael were so patient so very nice, they made this experience the best one. Arturo helped my husband learn and feel comfortable with snorkeling. Arturo explained and showed us things we would never do on our own. Misael stayed right there by us with the van, so our things were safe. Thank you for a great time and experience. Defiantly will be doing this again and telling friends.

Voir plusMy wife and I wanted to take a private or small party snorkeling tour and while googling same I came across Absolute Adventures. After reading the mostly 5 star reviews I expected a very good experience. Well, let's just say I can't imagine a better one. We did two days and had Arturo as our guide. He is way beyond the regular tour guide in local, cultural and snorkel/ dive knowledge.

Voir plusOur guide Cyril (Chris) Bouchet was great. He’s a trove of talent in and of himself - speaks multiple languages and has one of the most impressive nature photography portfolios I’ve ever seen. If you’re someone who appreciates photography, HE is your tour guide. He happily took as many photos as we asked him to take as we walked around Tulum in addition to providing great information about the ancient city, making sure we captured all of the iconic scenic shots. He also had his own camera and took several great candid shots of us enjoying our time there, and sent us the photos afterwards for free. If I’m ever back in this area for any kind of adventure excursion I will definitely look him up.

What a great experience! After Chris and the driver picked us up at the hotel, we enjoyed a nice drive to Tulum where Chris arranged for a knowledgable local guide to provide us with a tour of the grounds. Arriving early was key as there were very few other people at the site during our tour but literally hundreds disembarking their buses as we were leaving. After a nice swim / snorkel at Akumal with the turtles (which were great to see so close while snorkeling, allowing the diver and non-divers in our group to all enjoy them), we were treated to a delicious lunch at a local restaurant. Although it's something I often pay little attention to, I have to say that even the driver was great in that his attention to safety and a peaceful drive was evident throughout the day. We would HIGHLY recommend this service for any private tours in the area.

This tour company is well-run, and we felt comfortable in their nice vehicle driving 2 hours + to Ek Balam. The historic site and cenote were incredible, but we also appreciated the respect that the guide showed for the location and the people. After the tour, we went to a tremendous local restaurant for a feast, which was right on time after our morning adventure. Thank you for your time and care Arturo!
Voir plusFor the second year in a row our family booked an all day adventure with Absolute Adventure Mexico. This time we wanted to visit Sian Kaan, but the local cooperative cancelled our boat tour at the last minute. This had nothing to do with AAM, and was not their fault, but they offered us an alternative tour. We chose ATV, Ziplining, and swimming in a cenote. It was awesome. Our kids and grandkids loved it. Chris was our guide again, and did a fantastic job of making us feel welcome, safe, and provided just the right amount of adventure and fun. And the restaurant and meal were also excellent. Riding the ATVs through the jungle was exciting, ziplining was just the right mixture of fun and danger, and ziplining into the cenote brought a smile to all. Many thanks to Chris and AAM for another memorable day with our family. And we have the pictures to prove it. Be sure to book your RM adventure with Absolute Adventure Mexico. They are the best.

We had an amazing tour with Juan. I highly recommend a private tour. Juan shared his amazing local insight (even more than our additional Coba tour guide) which provided for more of a “real” experience. 10/10 would do it again.
